RACE CLASSES


TOP ALCOHOL

This division is intended for nitromethane injected, nitrous oxide or mechanically supercharged vehicles built specifically for Drag Racing competition running in a multi class bracket called “Top Alcohol”. This class is run on a heads up format.

TOP DOORSLAMMER

Top Doorslammer is intended for the ultimate in Nitrous Oxide, Turbocharged or Mechanically Supercharged vehicles retaining the appearance of full-bodied streetcars with opening doors. This class is run on a heads up format.

SUPERCHARGED OUTLAWS

A self nominated handicap (DYO) specificlly for Supercharged, Turbocharged and Nitrous Oxide powered Dragsters, Altereds, Funny cars and Sedans.

COMPETITION

This division is intended for open wheel, altered wheelbase hot rods, Funny Cars and long wheelbase dragster-type vehicles. This section is for cars specially designed with modified or replica production automotive bodies where necessary and all-out vehicles built exclusively for drag racing. This division is run on a no-breakout, staggered-start system using National Class Records to determine handicaps.

SUPER STOCK (Top Street & Pro Import)

This division is intended for race prepared street appearing cars and as such must retain that overall concept. This division is run on a no-breakout, staggered-start system using National Class Records to determine handicaps.

SUPER SEDAN

This division caters for budget conscious competitors with a wide range of sedan-based vehicles running on a self-nominated handicap running 10.99 seconds or quicker. Seating position must be left or right of centreline. (Pre 1932 Hot Rods run Modified). This division is run on a DYO breakout, staggered-start system using self-nominated dial-in times to determine handicaps.

MODIFIED

This division is intended for open wheel, altered wheelbase vehicles (+ Pre 1932 Hot Rods), Funny Cars and long wheelbase dragster-type vehicles. This section is for budget conscious competitors with cars designed using modified or replica production automotive bodies where necessary and vehicles built exclusively for drag racing. This division is run on a DYO breakout, staggered-start system using self-nominated dial-in times to determine handicaps.

SUPER STREET

Super Street caters for novice competitors racing everyday sedan vehicles running 11.00 seconds or slower on a DYO handicap basis. Seating position must be left or right of centreline. This division is run on a DYO breakout, staggered-start system using self-nominated dial-in times to determine handicaps.

COMPETITION BIKE

This division is intended for road racing motorcycles, road bikes with a modified frame, production touring motorcycles as supplied by the manufacturer and motorcycles using specially constructed frames built exclusively for drag racing. This division is run on a no-breakout, staggered-start system using National Class Records to determine handicaps.

JUNIOR DRAGSTER

Junior Dragster caters for novice competitors between the ages of 8 and 16 years. Racing miniature versions of dragsters over a maximum of 1/8 mile. This division is run on a DYO breakout, staggered-start system using self-nominated dial-in times to determine handicaps.

MODIFIED BIKE

Modified Bike is a budget conscious bracket of six classes of motorcycle using engines up to 2500cc running on the Dial Your Own handicap system. This division is run on a DYO breakout, staggered-start system using self-nominated dial-in times to determine handicaps. Custom chassis are permitted and a maximum of three engines may be fitted. Bikes in this division do not need to be registered or carry a WOF. The double letter prefix denotes supercharging is permitted. This may be in the form of a mechanical supercharger or turbocharger, or the addition of nitrous oxide, which is considered to be chemical supercharging. Nitromethane fuel is not permitted.
